Course Objectives
Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • List settings and situations in which cell-free DNA (cfDNA) might be used instead of tumor tissue for evaluation of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations. 

  • Discuss the utility of Epidermal growth factor receptor mutation analysis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer, and list the common mutations associated with resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors. 

  • Describe technical aspects of cfDNA sample centrifugation that affect detection of EFGR mutations.
