Course Objectives
Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • describe the basic anatomy of the hepatic system, including anatomic location as well as the macroscopic and microscopic structures; 

  • describe the basic functions of the liver on a large scale as well as its participation in other physiologic functions; 

  • evaluate basic testing strategies used to assess the health of the hepatic system; and 

  • classify the type of hepatic function that is evaluated through laboratory testing for the liver.
