• understand the utility and pattern of CD8 immunohistochemical staining in the cytologic diagnosis of accessory spleens; 

• recognize IPAS histology on cytologic specimens; and 

• identify characteristic cytomorphologic features to differentiate key differential diagnoses for IPASs.
