  • discuss the clinical presentation of patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection;

  • discuss the global epidemiology of the COVID-19 variant Omicron;

  • discuss the pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 in relation to the viral mutation seen in Omicron and its sublineages and subvariants; and

  • describe the implication of the Omicron mutation of the virus on transmission, diagnosis, prevention, control, treatment/management, and vaccination.
