Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • describe the typical clinical presentation of patients with antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) – associated vasculitis;

  • identify the most likely antibodies associated with different syndromic forms of ANCA-associated vasculitis;

  • recognize the pathologic pattern of injury typical of renal involvement by ANCA vasculitis;

  • describe why medical community does not currently favor the use of eponym for granulomatosis with polyangiitis; and

  • describe the historical methodology and current recommended strategy to test for ANCA.
