Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • identify cases for which prostatic stromal tumor of uncertain malignant potential (STUMP) should be considered;

  • discuss the important differential diagnoses for hypercellular prostate stroma, including benign prostatic hyperplasia and STUMP;

  • incorporate clinical, radiographic, and histologic findings to support a diagnosis of STUMP;

  • explain the clinical importance of STUMP regarding treatment and potential progression;

  • differentiate STUMP from prostatic stromal sarcoma; and

  • evaluate prostatic stromal lesions for prostatic stromal sarcoma and the other entities in the differential.
