  • explain the steps for laboratory evaluation of a high-frequency antibody; 

  • discuss the noninvasive and invasive methods used to monitor for fetal anemia; 

  • explain the principle of the monocyte monolayer assay and its utility in assessing antibodies to high-frequency antigens; and 

  • evaluate blood management strategies for patients with antibodies to high-frequency antigens based on degree of urgency.
