In today’s rapidly evolving healthcare environment, effective leadership is no longer reserved for those with formal titles—every individual can step up, influence change, and inspire colleagues. This interactive session explores how leadership is defined by action and impact rather than rank, and why cultivating a coaching mindset is essential for
ongoing growth both professionally and personally. Participants will learn to recognize and leverage everyday leadership opportunities, develop foundational coaching
skills (including powerful questioning and active listening), and create a personal action plan to integrate coaching conversations into their routine.
Through a blend of brief presentations, peer-to-peer exercises, and real-world examples, attendees will:
Reframe Leadership: Discover how leadership emerges in daily interactions—mentoring new team members, driving process improvements, and navigating complex group dynamics—regardless of a formal role.
Embrace the Coach Approach: Understand the difference between directing and coaching, and practice using a coach approach model to help others uncover their own solutions to problems and foster accountability.
Build Practical Skills: Engage in hands-on activities that demonstrate how to craft open-ended, reflective questions; facilitate brief coaching conversations; and overcome common obstacles (time constraints, habitual advising, or difficulty pausing to listen).
Develop a Personal Coaching Plan: Leave with a clear, individualized roadmap—identifying one team or colleague to coach this week, selecting a targeted coaching technique to apply, and committing to simple practices that track progress and insights.
This session is ideal for clinicians, administrative staff, educators, anyone in a leadership role and anyone who aspires to lead through
influence rather than authority. Whether you’re guiding residents, leading a small project, or supporting departmental change, you’ll walk away with
concrete tools to step into leadership moments and to coach others toward their highest potential. By embedding a coaching mindset into everyday interactions,
participants will strengthen team engagement, enhance professional development, and ultimately elevate patient care.
This session offers 4.0 CME/CMLE credits.
