Course Description
Communication in healthcare, particularly in pathology, is critical for effective patient care. As diagnostic complexities and technological integration in healthcare expand, pathologists and laboratory professionals face new challenges in ensuring effective communication across multidisciplinary teams and with patients. This educational session is designed to tackle these challenges. The session will begin by highlighting the importance of communication in enhancing patient safety, satisfaction, and health outcomes. Participants will explore the impact of health literacy and learn effective strategies for information dissemination, gaining insights into successful healthcare communication. The session will then proceed to an interactive discussion using case studies that will feature the mypathologyreport.ca platform, and other tools demonstrating improving reporting, collaboration, and communication within healthcare teams. The session will conclude with a Q&A segment, allowing attendees to, share experiences, and seek advice on specific communication challenges. By the end of this session, participants will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to meet the evolving communication needs in pathology, ensuring clearer interactions and improved patient care outcomes.
