DMT110-25 - CME/CMLE - Commonly Used Immunohistochemistry in Hepatopathology: Their Intended and Unintended Utility
Course Description

Surgical pathologists, whether practicing in academic institutions or community settings, are expected to skillfully utilize and interpret a wide range of special stains and immunostains in the diagnosis of liver pathology. However, many pathology resources and educational courses primarily focus on diagnostic challenges, often overlooking the technical complexities, proper interpretation, diagnostic pitfalls, and unintended benefits associated with these stains. While a strong understanding of liver disease pathophysiology and diagnostic criteria is fundamental, it remains incomplete without knowledge of the indications and varied applications of commonly used stains. This education session aims to address this gap by emphasizing the appropriate use, interpretation, and diagnostic challenges of frequently employed histochemical and immunohistochemical stains in both neoplastic and non-neoplastic liver pathology.

This session offers 1.0 CME/CMLE credit.
