With the 5th Edition WHO classification and several key specialty society consensus statements, recent years have seen much interest and teaching regarding the evolving classification of tumors in the genitourinary tract. Yet, despite the very direct relationship of tumor stage to patient management and outcomes, comparatively less recent attention has been devoted to challenges in contemporary handling, microscopic assessment, and pathologic staging of tumors in the genitourinary tract. In this education session, for each of the organ sites in the genitourinary tract (kidney, urinary bladder, prostate, and testis), the faculty will review pathologic staging, proceeding from a case-based approach emphasizing the most important staging issues that impact patient management. Key pitfalls to avoid, and tips and tricks from the course faculty's experience will be emphasized to help you provide the best diagnostic care to your patients.
