DMT122-25 - CME/CMLE - Lean Processes for Optimizing Efficiency in the Modern Lab
Course Description
Clinical laboratories are under constant pressure to operate within constraints of a lean budget. Testing demands, workforce shortages, and burn-out can create a survivalist environment where process improvement is perceived as unattainable. As modern laboratories face mounting pressure to deliver results within reduced turn-around times and with fewer staff and resources, understanding how to leverage lean principles could improve operations and provide some relief to staff. In this session, we will explore how lean principles can be leveraged to augment and improve laboratory workstreams. Case studies will be presented as practical applications and attendees will participate in hands-on exercises designed to translate concepts into actionable strategies.

This session offers 1.0 CME/CMLE credit.
