DMT152-25 - CME/CMLE - Current and Future Biomarkers in Gastrointestinal Cancer
Course Description
This session will explore the current landscape of biomarker testing in gastrointestinal tract cancers with a focus on current and future immunohistochemical markers. With the recent development of certain drugs such as zolbetuximab for the treatment of unresectable or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma and the approval of fam-trastuzumab deruxtecan-nxki for use in HER2 positive (3+ by immunohistochemistry) solid tumors of various types, the pathologist will play an important role in the multidisciplinary management of these cancer patients now, and in the future. This session will attempt to familiarize the learner with the utility of current biomarkers such as PD-L1, HER2, and Claudin 18.2 in gastrointestinal tract cancers and briefly discuss those potential biomarkers that are on the horizon.

This session offers 1.0 CME/CMLE credit.
