DMT153-25 - CME/CMLE - Cancer Biomarker Testing Navigation: Bridging Gaps to Achieve Optimal Patient Outcomes
Course Description
The precision medicine era, optimal cancer treatment hinges on a new level of coordination in cancer biomarker testing. Critical gaps exist within current laboratory workflows -from preanalytic complexities to result routing and communication with clinical teams. These challenges directly impact a patient's access to life-saving, targeted therapies, potentially delaying diagnosis and treatment.

To address these gaps and improve patient care delivery, ASCP has developed the groundbreaking Biomarker Testing Navigation (BTN) certificate program. This program empowers laboratory professionals to become vital operational stewards of testing workflows, ensuring every patient receives the right test at the right time.

This panel discussion will unveil the critical rationale of the BTN role, highlight its innovative design, and share compelling real-world implementation success stories from laboratory leaders whose programs inspired this work. Our expert faculty will share practical insights into how the BTN role improves coordination with oncology teams, reduces preanalytic errors, accelerates testing, and enhances diagnostic stewardship. The session will also introduce ASCP’s new virtual certificate program, outlining its curriculum, learning model, and the tools available to support learners and labs implementing this role.

This session offers 1.0 CME/CMLE credit.
