DMT158-24 - CME/CMLE - It Is Not Too Late! Yoga and Meditation Can Improve Posture and Prevent Burnout
Course Description
Laboratory professionals and pathologists are among the highest risk professionals for burnout. There has been numerous studies that show health care professionals burnout can be both prevented and reduced. Yoga and meditation are among the most sought out preventions used to decrease burnout. Yoga is a system of physical and mental practices that connects mind, body and spirit through techniques such as physical exercises, breathing and meditation. This course focuses on the yoga techniques including physical exercises, breathing techniques (Pranayama) and meditation to help prevent work related injuries/pain and burnout and increase job satisfaction. As a registered yoga instructor with more than 3 years of experience, I will guide the audience to use the basic desk or standing yoga techniques that can be used in their busy daily practice to deal with day to day tasks and difficulties. I will demonstrate and together we will practice short standing yoga and office desk yoga routine that can be used daily along with breathing/pranayama techniques to use when needed to calm the mind.
