GRCERVEM2402 - CME/CMLE - Cytologic and Histopathological Features of HPV-Negative Cervical Cancers and Precancers
Course Description

This case-based activity is designed to help pathologists and laboratory professional gain an understanding of the cytologic and histopathological characteristics of HPV-negative cervical cancers and precancers, including with an emphasis on squamous cell carcinomas, adenocarcinomas and their precursors.

Course topics include: 

  • Cytologic and histologic features of HPV-negative squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma 
  • Clinical characteristics of HPV-negative versus HPV-associated cervical cancers and pre-cancers 
  • Presenting features of HPV-negative versus HPV-associated cervical lesions

  • Recognize cytologic and histologic features of HPV-negative squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma on gynecologic pap tests and histologic sections 

  • Distinguish clinical characteristics of HPV-negative versus HPV-associated cervical cancers and pre-cancers 

  • Differentiate presenting features of HPV-negative HPV-associated cervical lesions 

  • Identify key ancillary studies in the workup of HPV-negative lesions
