LPR115-25 - CME/CMLE - It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time - Hold My Beer
Course Description
Irrigating a field with river water in advance of a mud football tournament may have seemed like a good idea at the time, until over 100 players ended up with skin and soft tissue Aeromonas infections. As illustrated by this scenario, sometimes human beings choose to do things that get them into trouble, and sometimes that trouble is a rip-roaring infection. This interactive case-based session will showcase both common and uncommon pathogens acquired by humans engaging in activities that seemed like a good idea at the time, but ended up giving them more than they bargained for. We will highlight salient epidemiologic, clinical and laboratory diagnostic features of each pathogen as we celebrate our shared humanity.

This session offers 1.0 CME/CMLE credit.
