Course Objectives
Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • identify the phase(s) at which anti-N typically reacts;  

  • explain the ‘N’ protective effect; 

  • identify patient populations in whom a true alloanti-N might be present; 

  • choose appropriate testing to perform when an anti-N is identified, to determine its clinical significance; and 

  • differentiate among anti-N, anti-‘N,’ and N-like antibody reactivity with trypsin-treated cells.
