Course Objectives
Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • identify clinical indications for antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) testing; 

  • discuss tests used in the differential evaluation of ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV); 

  • identify the types of immunoassays used in the detection of ANCA; 

  • describe the performance characteristics of the immunoassays for detecting ANCA; and 

  • explain key differences in algorithms for the evaluation of AAV.
