Course Objectives
Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • describe the primary clinical presentation of Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii infections; 

  • recognize a scenario when Corynebacterium species should be identified to the species level instead of being disregarded as skin flora;   

  • Identify the growth pattern of C kroppenstedtii on bacterial culture media; and 

  • consult the appropriate Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute document that describes how to perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing for C kroppenstedtii.
