Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • recognize the clinical and epidemiologic implications of phenotypic-genotypic susceptibility testing discrepancies;

  • identify select emerging methods for rapid phenotypic susceptibility testing;

  • discuss the advantages and disadvantages of rapid phenotypic susceptibility testing; and

  • describe the importance of active antimicrobial stewardship involvement in leveraging rapid phenotypic susceptibility testing for clinical benefit.
