Course Objectives
Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • discuss fetal/neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (FNAIT), including symptoms, prevalence, and etiology;

  • describe laboratory testing that aids in the diagnosis of FNAIT; 

  • interpret results of laboratory testing for FNAIT; 

  • identify common treatments for a neonate with FNAIT;

  • discuss prenatal management options for pregnancies at risk for FNAIT; and

  • summarize the challenges associated with screening pregnancies to identify those at risk for FNAIT.
