Course Objectives
Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:

  • discuss the clinical manifestations of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) and the laboratory criteria required for diagnosis; 

  • recognize the importance of repeat testing to confirm the persistence of antiphospholipid antibodies; 

  • describe the common assays used for lupus anticoagulant (LAC) detection; and 

  • discuss the weighted scores approach used in the 2023 ACR/EULAR classification criteria for anti-cardiolipin and anti-beta-2 glycoprotein-1 antibodies based on titers and isotypes.
