Course Objectives
Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:

  • describe the differences that exist in nomenclature and interpretation of HEp-2 IFA antibody results; 

  • recognize gaps in the knowledge regarding the clinical significance of cytoplasmic HEp-2 IFA staining patterns; 

  • identify opportunities for improving HEp-2 FA nomenclature and reporting; and 

  • discuss the role of cytoplasmic HEp-2 IFA staining associated with anti-Ribo P antibodies in the diagnosis of SLE.
