Course Objectives
Following completion of this activity, you will be able to:
  • describe the signs and symptoms of vasovagal reaction categories;  

  • identify the blood donors who are most likely to experience a vasovagal reaction;  

  • describe steps to minimize the occurrence and severity of a vasovagal reaction during blood donation;  

  • take appropriate actions when a donor is experiencing a vasovagal reaction; and  

  • share appropriate postdonation care instructions with a blood donor following a vasovagal reaction.
