Cindy Johns, MSA, MLS(ASCP)cmSHcm worked tirelessly as an ASCP volunteer for more than 30 years as an educator, Chair of the Associate Member Section (now the Council of Laboratory Professionals), Chair of the ASCP-BOC Board of Governors, a member of the Commission on Continuing Professional Development, Lead Ambassador for the ASCP BOC International Certification Committee, a PEPFAR volunteer, and a member of the ASCP Board of Directors (2014-2017) - in addition to serving on many ASCP and BOC committees. She received the 2012 ASCP President's Award and the inaugural ASCP Patient Champion Award in 2017. After several cancer diagnoses and treatments, Cindy passed away on Christmas Eve., 2017. Despite all the work Cindy did and everything she accomplished, her work is not done. This lecture will challenge you to identify at least one aspect of Cindy's professional endeavors that you can pursue in order to advance her legacy.
