Effective Test Utilization for Celiac Disease Diagnosis 

This CME/CMLE-accredited, case-based educational activity is designed to help medical laboratory directors, laboratory managers, pathologists, pathology residents or fellows-in-training, clinical chemists, and other laboratory professionals increase the knowledge, skills, and competence in effective test utilization best practices for diagnosing celiac disease.  

Each question consists of an authentic patient case/scenario and an assessment question with 3-5 multiple-choice answers designed to prompt the participant to make an appropriate diagnosis/recommendation. 

This case-based activity includes the following topics: 

 

  • Effective test utilization for celiac disease diagnosis and follow-up testing 

  • Symptomatic adult celiac disease testing practices 

  • Monitoring on gluten-free diet 

  • Symptomatic adult celiac disease biopsy 

  • Screening for celiac disease in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus 

The activity offers 1.0 CME/CMLE credit.

To claim CME/CMLE credit for the exercise, do the following:

  3. Complete the Demographic Survey.
  4. Complete the Pre-Test.

  6. Complete and submit the Post Exam. You will have a maximum of three attempts to obtain the required score. You will be notified if you have met the credit requirements after each attempt.
