Information technology as a whole and the practice of Informatics within pathology continues to grow in both sophistication and breadth of deployment. This course is intended for all pathologists, medical technologists, trainees and other allied laboratorians, with its goal being the dissemination of the most current areas as technologies likely to profoundly affect the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine in the next five years. The the course is practically-minded, making use of classical SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) for each highlighted exemplar, to clearly demonstrate the affected practice area and the potential opportunities for the discussed technology to mitigate contemporary challenges.
